Did you know... Dual flush cisterns?

Dual flush WC cisterns enable us to empty half or all of the cistern capacity depending on the use, so that we can use from 3 to 9 litres as required. There are also cisterns which enable us to stop the flush when we wish, so as to not use more water than is necessary. If you don’t have any of these mechanisms, consult your installer. You can also use a homemade water saving system in the WC cistern. Add a one litre bottle filled with sand and you will save more than 4,000 litres of water a year.

All parts of society have been contributing for some time to water saving. But we can still improve in making good use of water and confronting the drought. With the advice given in this section we can learn to value it more and reduce our consumption.
